The vehicle can not be stolen if you have the smart-key on your person, as the thief were to attempt to steal the vehicle it would automatically self-disable upon reaching a distance greater than a few hundred feet from the driver with the smart-key in his or her pocket.

This can be used in any situation where as a driver needs to be out of the vehicle for any reason and still having security and knowledge that his equipment is fully protected.

In a fleet environment the number of similar programmed smart-tags is unlimited, as in the event a driver were to be driving any vehicle on the company fleet, he could simply get out of one vehicle and into another while using the same smart-key.

If the company policy is to have certain drivers operate only certain vehicles or equipment then his or her smart-key will only allow them to operate those specific pieces of equipment for which they are authorized.
